Job Position:
Electrical Engineering Co-op/New Grad
In this role, you would be part of a dynamic R&D team getting more Cleantech technologies to
the market by supporting our engineering team with application specific projects. With multiple
projects going on at the same time, the role will take part in various stages of development from
the concept to product launch. We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to help
develop, apply, and implement our various interesting applications
Your Impact:
-
Work with various chemistries with our BMS (Battery Management System)
-
Communicate with clients to understand their application and finding the right solution with our product
-
Work with customers to develop a technical requirements document
-
Manage team projects from prototype stage to production launch
-
Support in resource management
-
Participate in the design of information and operational support system

Work with team to produce proper test plans/strategies

Organize and maintain all technical documents
-
Research new technologies to improve KPM’s market position
What you will bring to the team:
-
Graduate of a 4-year program in the field of Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or Systems Engineering
-
Knowledge in the following technologies and languages: Python, C, C++, CAN bus, PI, and LTE/wireless-enabled solutions.
-
Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments.

Experience in schematic and layout design and schematic capture and PCB design; ability to read and effectively interpret engineering drawings.

Lab safety knowledge is critical as we will be working with live DC Power

Electrical Engineering Intern
Job Position:
Hardware Assembler
In this role, you would be part of a dynamic team getting more Cleantech technologies to the market where you’ll see the full production cycle at KPM Power, from designing products to shipping our electrical components into the field. You’ll receive the opportunity to practice hands-on technical skills (workshop; soldering, wire cutting/crimping/pinning, etc.) while you assemble, program and complete test validations on our battery management systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Operate automatic and semi-automatic machines to strip, crimp, and splice wire leads
-
Operate automatic testing equipment to locate circuit and wiring faults, shorts and component defects
-
Assemble wire harnesses, adhering to quality standards and set deadlines
-
Perform simple electrical and continuity testing of electronic components, parts and systems
-
Check final assembly for finish, labelling and packaging methods
Wire Harness Assemblers will operate the following Equipment/Machinery:
-
Soldering station
-
Automatic and Manual crimpers
-
Automated heat shrink machine
-
Automatic wire cutting machine
Qualifications:
-
Knowledge using basic hand and power tools including drills, tie snips, impact drivers, glue guns and screwdrivers (or interested and willing to be trained)

Must be a self-starter and the ability to work independently

Job Position:
Full Stack Developer Co-op/New Grad
In this role, you would be part of a dynamic team getting more Cleantech technologies to the market by supporting our Full Stack Developers with a variety of tasks. You’ll receive the opportunity to practice hands-on technical skills through testing web interfaces and working with our engineering team on a variety of projects.
Duties and Responsibilities

Developing a UX/UI interface communicating with our battery management interface

Working with a Raspberry Pi, and Arduino for telemetry projects

Working with marketing, and engineering teams on various projects

Supporting the Development Team with various tasks
-
Hands-on work testing of the web interface

Communication of the status of projects
Qualifications:
-
Minimum 3rd year in the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering

Knowledge in the following languages: Javascript, Python, CSS, REST, My SQL, REACT
-
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux
-
Knowledge in C, CAN Bus is an asset

Ability to self-learn
