Job Position:

Electrical Engineering Co-op

In this role, you would be part of a dynamic engineering team getting more Cleantech
technologies to the market by supporting our products with application specific projects. With
multiple projects going on at the same time, the role will take part in various stages of
development from the concept to product launch. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to
help develop, maintain and troubleshoot our growing system.

Your Impact:

• Work with various chemistries with our BMS (Battery Management System).
• Support in the specifications and manual creation with technical report writing.
• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible
   solutions, and work with the team to implement those fixes.
• Research new technologies to improve KPM’s market position.
• Support Applications Engineering with the customer projects.
• Have the ability or desire to build and design prototypes and test set-ups.

What you will bring to the team:

• Enrolled with coop program with a minimum 3rd-year completion studying Electrical Engineering or                 Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• Knowledge of the following technologies and languages: Python, C, PI, and Linux/Unix.
• Experience in schematic and layout design and schematic capture and PCB design;
   ability to read and effectively interpret engineering drawings.

Electrical Engineering Co-op

Job Position:

DevOps Coop/Intern/New Grad (Developer Operations)

The primary focus of the DevOps role is on the infrastructure that our applications is processed on. We are looking for someone who is driven by automation with a deep interest in deploying and managing servers. We offer the opportunity to learn on the job to develop software that will store and manage the data of our application; from monitoring dashboards to alerting tools. You will be on the frontline of ensuring are system stays secure with our growing needs.

Your Impact:

  • Building out automation tools and working with public cloud APIs.

  • Review DevOps monitoring tools and respond to or resolve outstanding issues.

  • Develop DevOps tools for internal development workflows.

  • System level tuning and debugging in public cloud, or in a containerized environment.

  • Provide technical support for engineering escalations.

  • Create and maintain documentation regarding configuration, processes, security.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Enrolled in a coop program or a recent grad with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Technology or Software Engineering.

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience with Bash or Python (in a work setting or project base)

  • Experience with shell scripts, python, or comparable coding language is required.

  • General understanding of network and server architecture.

  • Experience in successfully constructing a DevOps automated pipeline using a minimum of one trending tool such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes with Helm, Terraform, Prometheus and Grafana are a definite plus. 

  • Experience with infrastructure automation or infrastructure-as-code environments is essential.

Desirable but not mandatory:

  • Experience working with Linux server environments, including developing shell scripts, and working with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience programming in at least one language: Java Script, html and Node JS

  • Working knowledge of Ansible and git.

  • Experience working with IoT devices such as the Raspberry Pi.

  • Experience working within a Test Driven and Security Driven Development environment is desirable.

DevOps Coop/Intern/New Grad (Developer Operations)

Job Position:

Hardware Assembler

In this role, you would be part of a dynamic team getting more Cleantech technologies to the market where you’ll see the full production cycle at KPM Power, from designing products to shipping our electrical components into the field. You’ll receive the opportunity to practice hands-on technical skills (workshop; soldering, wire cutting/crimping/pinning, etc.) while you assemble, program and complete test validations on our battery management systems. 

Duties and Responsibilities 


  • Operate automatic and semi-automatic machines to strip, crimp, and splice wire leads 

  • Operate automatic testing equipment to locate circuit and wiring faults, shorts and component defects 

  • Assemble wire harnesses, adhering to quality standards and set deadlines 

  • Perform simple electrical and continuity testing of electronic components, parts and systems 

  • Check final assembly for finish, labelling and packaging methods 


Wire Harness Assemblers will operate the following Equipment/Machinery:

  • Soldering station 

  • Automatic and Manual crimpers 

  • Automated heat shrink machine 

  • Automatic wire cutting machine 



  • Knowledge using basic hand and power tools including drills, tie snips, impact drivers, glue guns and screwdrivers (or interested and willing to be trained) 

  • Must be a self-starter and the ability to work independently
